![]() Later missions get stupidly hard for all the wrong reasons, but the entire thing is only 2 hours long or so anyway (and ends on a cliffhanger too, because of course it does). Plays like any standard modern shooter, with regenerating health, ironsights and guns that barely have any recoil. Payback is a budget game, and a pretty bleh one at that. Haven't played MP, but I hear a lot of good things about it. ![]() It also has a Random Mission Generator thingy, which like the name implies, generates missions, but it will quickly get repetitive since the maps are all a bunch of fields and mountains with buildings scattered around. Enemies feel kind of cheap sometimes, especially in the jungle missions. Unfortunately, it has some really, really annoying stealth and turret sections. They lose accuracy if you're moving around and have large amounts of recoil, but at the same time they feel incredibly powerful, especially the shotguns. Soldier of Fortune 2 takes a more slow, tactical approach with pseudo-realistic weapon handling. Nothing exceptional in my opinion, but solid all around. Run around the levels, complete the objectives and shoot all the bad guys. It's an oldschool, arcade-y kind of game. ![]() ![]() Soldier of Fortune 1 is pretty straightforward. Payback isn't the worst thing ever, but it's very, very far from being good. SoF2 is a mixed bag but is worth trying at least. ![]()
